Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada (September 28, 2004) – Norsat International Inc. (TSX NII.TO; OTC BB – NSATF.OB) announced today the award of $3.2 million in contracts from theU.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for Norsat NewsLink™ portable satellite terminals to bedelivered over the next two months.
The U.S. military has purchased the Norsat NewsLink™ terminals to provide news coverage ofevents in the Middle East. Most of the portable terminals ordered will be used to augment the Norsat NewsLinks™ already deployed in the Army’s Digital Video and Imagery DistributionSystem (DVIDS).
