Our company headquarters in Richmond, BC is responsible for production, sales, and technical support for our customers. We are currently looking for a professional with a strong engineering background to be part of our Engineering Department as a Configuration Specialist.

Summary:

As a Configuration Specialist, you will manage the Engineering Services Infrastructure in support of proprietary product, including engineering standards, processes, procedures and tools with respect to engineering information and CAD services. In addition, you will be managing the configuration of the company’s ERP and CRM system. You must be able to balance multiple projects and have the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team.

Expected Contributions:

  • The verification of engineering documentation related to the procurement and manufacture of product (OEM and Build to Print).
  • Chair of Engineering Review Board.
  • The maintenance of engineering documentation (all forms of Change Orders).
  • Responsible for the Product Lifecycle Management system where the controlled (softcopy) documentation for company product design data is vaulted.
  • Responsible for the storage and safeguarding of all Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Standards and Procedures related to the Product Development infrastucture.
  • Assisting in responsibilities related to the computer system engineering drive, which contains all the engineering development data (work in progress).
  • Become in-house specialist on all aspects of Product Data within the company, including specializing in the use, maintenance, and occasional adjustments to the Product Data infrastructure, including, but not limited to, the PLM software (Agile) and the ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains) and the data-handling between them.

Education and Level of Overall Experience:

  • CMII certification a definite asset.
  • Experience in Document Control and Engineering Change Management.
  • Experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Experienced with physical item hierarchies.
  • Skilled with bill of material computer tools.
  • Able to apply rules of interchangeability with confidence.
  • Must be meticulous and detail-oriented

Other Criteria:

  • Sound knowledge of Configuration Management practices.
  • Has worked extensively with Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook).
  • A background in ERP/PDM/PLM software tools would be a definite asset.
  • Good knowledge in engineering practices, utilizing standard engineering software for Microsoft Windows, etc.
