Our subsidiary in Annapolis, MD is responsible for sales and technical support of our customers across North America. We are currently looking for a dynamic professional with sales experience in satellite communications to join our sales team as a Regional Sales Manager/Director.

Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager/Director is directly responsible sales and customer relationships within an assigned geographical region for Norsat Satellite Systems Business Unit. This individual must develop a profound understanding of the company’s sales strategy, competitors’ strategies and function as a recognized expert in the market. This role must develop key contacts within major accounts and focus on the establishment and maintenance of relationships.

Expected Contributions:

  • Meet annual and quarterly revenue and margin targets for assigned territory/geography.
  • Actively develop personal knowledge of industry/market sector, clients’ business challenges and the impact of potential future changes.
  • Ensure that this knowledge is continually shared with team members so everyone is kept up to date on the latest sales developments.
  • Proactively develop and sustain key executive relationships at senior levels in order to be able to maximize clients’ relationships and build customer advocacy.
  • Achieve client satisfaction to agreed levels and strives to outperform competitors through delivery excellence.
  • Utilize the sales process tools and systems for enhanced coordination and to drive action plans that result in effectively and accurately forecasting business to support sales planning and execution.
  • Continually evaluate each opportunity during the qualification stage to ensure that engagements are properly scoped and winnable.
  • Utilize Microsoft CRM to capture information about business opportunities.
  • Maintain and accurately forecast an opportunity pipeline with a balance of pursuit activity from all business units.
  • Active participate as part of a proposal team to ensure that solutions meet or exceed customers expectations and assigned financial targets.
  • Provide relevant and timely feedback to internal company resources (Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain Operations) to enhance development of future company products, pricing, promotions, etc.

Education and Level of Overall Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, technical degree would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years sales
  • Knowledge and experience in satellite ground equipment and/or services
  • Knowledge of sales information systems
  • Second language is an asset.
  • A proven track record of developing and winning business
  • Established contacts and relationships in the satellite market
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the marketplace/industry, alliances partners, competition and suppliers in order to be able to leverage the company’s value proposition.
  • Would have consistently delivered significant revenues (in excess of $5M) and have exposure to selling and negotiating equipment and services deals.
  • Preferably significant sales experience in satellite terminals and services
