Supply Chain Manager / Supervisor

Summary:

In this role, strong candidate is needed to lead the day to day planning, buying and warehouse activities. The successful candidate will work directly with the production, quality, engineering, customer service and sourcing to ensure on time deliver quality goods to customers. This is a fast-paced job with many variables in which you will be constantly reviewing and working with (internal and external) senior leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, supervise and manage the planning, buying and warehouse team
  • Develop and manage master production schedule and material planning to:
    • Meet demands and manage expectations of internal teams and external customers
    • Optimize production resources (including material purchases) and adaptive delivery schedules
    • Minimize floor stock inventory based on part demand history and production forecasts
  • Lead production scheduling meetings for capacity and material review
  • Ensure all purchasing is in compliance with regulations and laws related to purchasing practices and in accordance with Norsat standard practices
  • Place purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of parts and components to meet production schedule
  • Liaise between vendors, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and on time delivery
  • Expedite outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery requirements are met
  • Working closely with accounting team for any discrepancies or issues with use of GL codes, sales order fulfillment issues, invoicing, credit issuing and inventory adjustments
  • Responsible for creating and refining processes in monthly inventory cycle counting and year-end inventory counting
  • Responsible for coordinating the count of monthly inventory cycle counting and year-end inventory counting
  • Improve inventory accuracy including warehouse management, job kitting, and introduction of barcoding
  • Help to develop and refine ERP/MRP processes
  • Maintaining a well-organized, safe and clean warehouse for efficient operations
  • Identify, analyze, and manage potential and actual issues and risks, take corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues
  • Responsible for internal and external customer support for emergencies and Out of Services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in supply chain/business
  • 5-7 years’ experience in production planning and inventory control preferred
  • 3+ years of managerial experience related to production planning and inventory control
  • Exposure to low volume / high mix production environment
  • Proficiency or exposure to manufacturing ERP system (preferably MS Dynamics Navision’s – functions such as creating BOMs, routings, inventory control, MRP, and barcoding
  • Candidates working towards APICS CPIM certification preferred
  • Must have working knowledge of import/export regulations (e.g. Tariff Classification; Commercial Invoice, B13, etc.) and carrier management
