Recently Norsat hosted the Norsat Worldwide Sales Team at our Canadian Headquarters for our annual Sales and Marketing Conference. The three-day session included presentations from the Norsat executive, product marketing, marketing communications and engineering product demonstrations and training. Each of the sales managers presented their yearly sales plans as well.
Norsat’s VP Sales and Marketing, Brian Donnelly, presented the annual sales awards. Congratulations to Douglas Chun, Top Sales Person for 2015 and Olivier Scorsipa, Top Over Quota Sales for 2015. Both Douglas and Olivier were presented with a glass sculpture award for their accomplishments.
To break up the presentations and provide a little fun throughout the week, we ran a team building exercise to get both internal sales and marketing staff engaging and working with the external sales team. This year’s challenge was called Frostbite. Teams had to work together to build a shelter out of construction paper, toothpicks, post-it notes and elastics, while their leader suffered from frostbite on his hands and could only give verbal direction, and the team members suffered from snow blindness, hence could not see. Congratulations to the team of Stan Mullery, Sheri Morita and Douglas Chun for their design that withstood the cold winter winds (a.k.a an office fan!)
Overall the week was productive as the teams were able to come together to discuss challenges and then discuss strategies to help the company improve to grow the business in the future.
