Norsat is proud to offer a comprehensive product portfolio of transportable satellite terminals in the C, X, Ku, and Ka bands on a custom basis. All systems come with a software interface that allows for quick and easy setup and diagnostic capabilities. These transportables are available with the following antennas: 0.98m, 1.2m, 1.8m and 2.4m. The customer may specify the frequency band, antenna size, modems, BUC/SSPA and user equipment.
UltraPortable Terminals are backpackable and are the first such systems on the market. They are lighter than terminals in any of the other categories and are suited for “Grab and Go” missions where users may be required to deploy to a site and set up at a location on short notice. They are currently available with a 1m antenna for operation in the Ku-band only.
Portables are satellite terminals that are optimized for ease of transport and use. The system is designed to be durable, highly intuitive and rugged. Ease of transport is accomplished by way of (i) extremely tight integration of electronics including SSPA, transmitter, compass, inclinometer and spectrum analyzer and (ii) the use of light-weight carbon fiber antenna. Portables are also capable of transmitting at data rates of up to 9Mbps. The terminals are available in the NewsLink and SecureLink families and come with a 1m antenna.
Transportables are satellite terminals that are ideal for longer deployments and where ease of transport is generally not a concern. They tend to be much heavier and bulkier than those belonging to any of the other categories However, these terminals are capable of data transmission rates of up to 9Mbps, and may be more economical where longer deployments are envisioned. Transportables are available with a 0.98m (Ku-band only) and a 1.8m antenna (Ku-band and C-band).
