It is not surprising that Norsat’s ranking on Business in Vancouver’s Top 100 Most Profitable Companies in BC jumped 29 spots year-over-year from 2014 to 2015! With a +107% increase in net income, the company has shown excellent profitability and has been profitable for more than 8 years running.
Ranked on 2015 net income, Norsat demonstrated continued solid operating results for the year. The strong US dollar also helped push Norsat up the ladder as Norsat reports in US dollars.

Norsat President and CEO, Dr. Amiee Chan, has been named #15 on Women’s Executive Network (WXN) 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 list.
The Top 100 Awards recognize Canada’s strong, fearless female leaders who have become agents of change in reshaping Canadian organizations at the highest levels.
“I am honoured to have been selected by the panel of judges for this esteemed award. I would like to congratulate all of the winners named to this year’s Top 100 list,” stated Dr. Amiee Chan.
Co-Presented by Scotiabank and KPMG, the Top 100 Awards celebrate and highlight professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors at a time when corporate Canada is undergoing pressure to promote more female leaders into board and executive office positions.
Dr. Chan is passionate about using her experience as a female leader to benefit women entering the work force and developing their careers. She volunteers as a mentor for the Ms. Infinity Program with Women in Science and Technology, an organization devoted to encouraging women to develop careers in the traditionally male-dominated industries of science and technology. She also serves on the National Advisory Committee on Girls and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), which introduces girls of all ages to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), providing them with experiences relevant to everyday life.
