Summary: This newly created position will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic channel sales plans to accomplish short, medium, and long-term revenue goals for Norsat’s Satellite business unit. With a focus on our parent company, Hytera Communications, the Channel Sales Manager will develop collateral, deliver training, identify champions, motivate and support the worldwide Hytera sales team to create new opportunities for satellite components, terminals, and satellite networks. This is an exciting new role within the company where the candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the growth of Norsat.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide training, pricing and positioning support to Hytera channel partners
  • Providing accurate short- and long-term forecasts
  • Meeting quarterly and yearly sales and profitability targets
  • Leading the sale for large channel opportunities
  • Motivating the channel to keep Norsat “top of mind” and to prioritize Norsat
  • Tracking all sales activities relating to customers, pipeline and prospects

Summary: Norsat is expanding its Engineering team!  Come join us during this exciting time!  As a RF Electrical Engineer within the versatile engineering team, you will act as a technical champion for our products.  You will play an integral role in designing new products/solutions and enhancing/maintaining our existing products, especially in the following areas:  RF circuits, synthesizer circuits, waveguide components and filters/RF component and system testing.  If you have extensive RF experience, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and manufacturing of BUCs (block upconverters) and SSPAs (solid state power amplifiers)
  • Customize and modify existing circuits
  • Participate in the design of RF power amplifiers, including layout and process/assembly techniques and issues
  • Convert requirements into conceptual designs and develop prototypes
  • Assist with product development
  • Provide guidance to manufacturers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Troubleshoot design issues
  • Work with Operations/Production to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Provide technical analysis for proposal writing activities

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in RF design
  • Rich experience designing RF components, especially power amplifiers, synthesizers and related circuitry
  • Good knowledge of EM theory
  • Design Experience for RF circuits for frequencies above 10GHz
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture & PCB layout
  • Hands-on experience building, integrating and troubleshooting circuits
  • Hands-on experience testing RF circuits and components
  • Experience designing waveguide components and analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience designing for manufacturability
  • Thorough understanding of RF assembly processes
  • Experience with the following software:  ADS, EMPro, HFSS, Altium, Waspnet
  • Familiarity with Agile and Solid Works considered an asset

Summary: As a SATCOM Application Engineer in the Sales Enablement Group you will report to the Chief Scientist. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team and support the sales team to provide technical solutions for our customers.  The solutions will include satellite networks, SATCOM terminals and microwave assemblies. You will play an integral role in ensuring that the Norsat solution meets the customer performance requirements. You will work closely with engineering to ensure solutions are realizable.

  • Work with the sales team, marketing team and directly with the customer to determine the requirements and constraints

Summary: As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for maintaining and coordinating the timely shipment of products from our warehouse to the customer. You will manage all aspects of filling and shipping orders daily with strict KPI for on time shipping.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage traffic to/from US/International borders
  • Prepare daily released shipments, including inventory picking, label printing and packaging

Summary: As Quality Manager, you will provide leadership for the Quality team in the resolution of problems and continuous improvement of product, processes and the quality management system. This position will address all areas of enterprise operations to achieve quality and operating objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of effective quality assurance policies, system and procedures to ensure the organization produces quality products
  • Create an environment where people can grow and develop, and lead by example in creating a positive, “can do” culture
  • Understand techniques for facilitating organizational change, removing roadblocks, performing constraint management, motivating and resolving conflicts
  • Facilitate and promote problem-solving tools (the seven quality control tools, the seven management and planning tools, root cause analysis, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), 8D, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, PPAP and other like models)
  • Drive process and product improvements to reduce internal defects and external warranty
  • Develop, define and recommend quality policy and sets objectives to meet business needs
  • Conduct management reviews of the quality system and make adjustments, as necessary, to align the system to the business strategy
  • Develop, recommend, and implement inspection and analysis techniques, quality and process control procedures and audit plans to ensure specifications and standards are met
  • Manage the incoming quality inspection, in-process quality control, internal audit program, gage and calibration process, and material tractability activities to assure effectiveness of the Quality System
  • Be able to tactically stop processing or shipping any products or service considered to be of questionable conformance with requirements
  • Monitor supplier qualify performance, drive continuous improvement. Work with Purchasing and Sourcing departments to improve cost, lead time and inventory reduction
  • Review all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
  • Identify quality related training needs and direct training activities. Provide necessary training to all employee and promote quality awareness
  • Lead the supplier quality assurance and sample qualification process, implement effective supplier quality management processes to make sure the supplier (both 3rd party and intercompany) goods meet Sinclair quality standards
  • Train, coach, develop Quality staff with proper skills, and assisting other managers/supervisors in training their staff in Quality Policy and Procedures
  • Establish and maintain an effective quality reports/matrix and database, manage the quality KPI and drive the continues improvement on quality index and manage/reduce the cost of poor quality
  • Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and take action as appropriate. Manage and maintain customer scorecard to meet and exceed the customer expectation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, industry quality codes and news with respect to product (service) quality
  • Occasionally business travel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or a similar technical discipline
  • Have 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of two to three years of this experience must be in a management and supervision position in quality function
  • Experience in the telecommunication products industry is preferred
  • Be a hands-on self-starting team player and have the ability to read blueprints & Interpret GD&T on drawings
  • Be able to work within and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Experience with Engineering Change, MRB, RCA/8D, FMEA, PPAP
  • Working experience of ISO 9001 quality management systems, internal or external auditor experience is preferred
  • Strong computer skills (including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Outlook and ERP)
  • ASQ certification preferred

Recipients of Foundation funding have included: Union Gospel Mission, Food Bank, Covenant House, Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity.

Scholarships

The Foundation also awards post-secondary scholarship on a yearly basis to children of full-time staff members through the Dr. G.W. Sinclair Scholarship Fund.
