Summary: This newly created position will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic channel sales plans to accomplish short, medium, and long-term revenue goals for Norsat’s Satellite business unit. With a focus on our parent company, Hytera Communications, the Channel Sales Manager will develop collateral, deliver training, identify champions, motivate and support the worldwide Hytera sales team to create new opportunities for satellite components, terminals, and satellite networks. This is an exciting new role within the company where the candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the growth of Norsat.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide training, pricing and positioning support to Hytera channel partners
  • Providing accurate short- and long-term forecasts
  • Meeting quarterly and yearly sales and profitability targets

Summary: As a Product Assembler, your duties will involve the manufacturing of leading-edge satellite product assemblies for military, government, and high-end commercial applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Build PCBAs, mechanical and electrical subassemblies of satellite terminals as per instructions
  • Work with production documentation, such as Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and CAD drawings

Summary: As the Production Planner, you are responsible for planning and coordination of manufacturing processes for leading edge satellite communication solutions. Reporting to the Planning and Logistics Manager, your key role is to ensure jobs are organized and available for execution to keep the production team operating at an efficient level.

  • Generate manufacturing orders
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
  • Coordinate production workflow
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

Summary: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, internal management reports and schedules. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for assisting with reconciling account balances, including intercompany balances and ad-hoc requests from management and head office.  A successful candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements and schedules, including but not limited to consolidated balance sheet, statement of earnings, statement of cashflow, detailed Accounts Receivable/Payable analysis and Operating Expenses analysis
  • Support and assist with implementing improvements to the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting process
  • Reconcile intercompany balances between a number of entities
  • Assist with external audits and prepare requested schedules and technical accounting memos
  • Document and monitor business processes to maintain effective internal controls

Summary: The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, analytical and hands-on Director of Finance and IT to direct our entire accounting function, including financial reporting, tax, and all financial transaction cycles, ensuring appropriate design and implementation of processes and controls.    On the IT side, you will work closely with our outsourced IT partner firm to review corporate IT and data management strategies in support of company strategy and ensure delivery of strategies within budget and in a timely manner.  As a key resource to the CFO, you will lead by example a team of professionals to ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance while seeking out opportunities to improve on current processes and procedures.

In addition, you will support the CFO and senior management team on significant business development and other strategic initiatives. Summary: Norsat is looking to add a Human Resources Generalist to our growing HR Team.  The team is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, on-boarding, training & development, employee relations, performance management, compensation management, talent management, and more!   In this role, there will be an initial heavy emphasis on recruitment but he/she will have the opportunity to impact and/or oversee various HR initiatives.  Some general office administration backup support for the administration team will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions across Canada – including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checking, and offer negotiating
  • Work with management team to identify and address staffing needs

Summary: We are looking for a dynamic Project Engineer to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating multiple technical projects concurrently and for related customer facing communications.  The diverse projects are related to the development of satellite ground segment components and will encompass all aspects of the new product introduction process from conception, design and development, pilot runs to hand-off to mass manufacturing and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute and revise project plans and processes as needed to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Monitor project progress, coordinate project activities, and resolve problems
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions
  • Co-ordinate project activities with other projects, Electronic Manufacturing Systems (EMS) and New Product Introduction (NPI) groups within Norsat and Hytera
  • Review customer issued documents (purchase orders, delivery schedules, statements of work, penalty clauses, first article inspection requirements, etc.) prior to acceptance
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and management from a project point of view (status/technical review meetings, follow up on action items, issue management, etc.)
  • Facilitate and chair project design reviews
  • Execute and follow up on project details as required (sourcing quick turn fabrication of schedule sensitive components, follow up with suppliers, kitting of components for prototype builds, etc.)
  • Create written technical documentations as needed
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Facilitate communication amongst diverse stakeholders with conflicting objectives
  • Manage scope and mitigate risk across projects

Qualifications:

  • in a related engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical)

Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for the full cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) in multiple currencies, managing customer credits and communicating with Norsat’s worldwide customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Process daily invoices for both Richmond, BC and/or Aurora ON locations
  • Investigate and resolve invoice posting or payment process issues
  • Process daily receipts, including cheques, wires and credit cards; and apply against customer accounts
  • Perform customer set up and customer accounts reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Review customers credit application, provide analysis and recommendations for credit approval
  • Carry out collection and reporting activities, including corresponding directly with customers according to specific deadlines and follow up with customers on past due accounts, credit holds, and releases
  • Address requests from Sales and Customer Services within the Company, as well as external customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Responsible for various GL activities, such as entering cash receipts, month end journal entries, maintaining and reconciling AR sub-ledger

Department: Production

Reports to: Team Lead

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Aurora, Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Read assembly drawings and instructions
  • Assemble a variety of antennas and filters
  • Check in process quality of products as per the production standard
  • Perform testing of products
  • Solder/rework various components
  • Use of simple jigs, fixtures and hand tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Soldering experience an asset
  • An understanding of measurements (for example being able to read a ruler)
  • Able to do some physical lifting
  • Must be able to wear safety shoes
  • Able to work independently and with others
  • Good organization skills
  • Willing to work overtime

Reports to: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Aurora, Ontario

Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Aurora. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full product development cycle of new antenna and filter products (from product research to pre-production) for use primarily with base station systems, vehicles and handheld devices in public safety and mobile communications systems. In addition to short term deployment-driven tasks, you will have the opportunity to develop novel concepts and innovative new designs that satisfy long term product needs of the market and company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new antenna and RF filter products by studying customer requirements and regulations
  • Conduct all mechanical aspects of product development cycle including the conceptual design, DFMEA, FEA analysis, optimization, parts draft, assembly, test, product release, project technical report, material and cost report
  • Perform derivative product designs, product performance improvement and error correction
  • Explore new design technologies, enhance professional job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging manufacturing technologies and practices
  • Perform product improvement and cost reduction
  • Document engineering design by recording engineering design requirements, theory, simulation and test results, material and hours tracking, filling engineering design reports
  • Specify hardware and material to comply with product specifications, manufacturing requirements and target cost
  • Create or approve product drawings, release documents, specifications, customer manual, manufacturing assembly and test instructions
  • Provide engineering information and support other department to resolve technical problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Personal Attributes:

  • Able to work in a rapidly changing environment, highly proficient in design planning to ensure timely completion of assignments, willing to work in a team environment and having excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to accommodate multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment, must be self-directed and willing to take initiative

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent area of study
  • Master’s degree would be considered an asset
  • 3+ years of industry experience developing and testing products for commercial applications
  • Proficiency in Solidworks with 3 years of industry experience, including experience with Reference geometry, Hole wizard, Pattern, Multi-configuration and design table, Swept boss, Assembly mates
  • Strong professional experience in mechanical design and product building for high volume and low-cost production
  • Knowledge of RF engineering fundamentals and principles
  • Solid understanding of fabrication/manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of drawing views and BOM, dimensioning and tolerance labeling
  • Hands-on skills utilizing test equipment such as vibration table and temperature chamber
  • Excellent technical writing skills

Position Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Aurora, ON

Summary: Sinclair Technologies is looking for a highly motivated and energetic Draftsperson to join our Drafting team.  You must have good communication skills, are a team player, are able to focus on details and have a natural drive to accuracy. The successful candidate must be proficient in SolidWorks, and experience with AutoCAD and/or Teamcenter PLM software will be a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Make drawing changes, update file properties and release ECOs
  • Convert manual parts drawings and mark-ups to computer models
  • Follow engineering prototype to make 3D model, produce parts and assembly drawings
  • Prepare engineering design release document package
  • Data management and revision control
  • Perform dimension and other basic calculations under supervision
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specification and design data
  • Check prepared contract and vendor documents
  • Attend engineering meeting and provide weekly progress report
  • Carry out other drafting projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, drawing dimensioning and tolerance labeling
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks with 1 year of industry experience is mandatory
  • Experience with SolidWorks feature of Reference geometry, Hole wizard, Pattern, Multi-configuration and design table, Swept boss, Assembly mates, drawing views and BOM
  • Preference will be given to candidate with the knowledge of Teamcenter PLM software
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products, particularly in Excel
