Summary:
This newly created position will be responsible for creating and executing on strategic channel sales plans to accomplish short, medium, and long-term revenue goals for Norsat’s Satellite business unit. With a focus on our parent company, Hytera Communications, the Channel Sales Manager will develop collateral, deliver training, identify champions, motivate and support the worldwide Hytera sales team to create new opportunities for satellite components, terminals, and satellite networks. This is an exciting new role within the company where the candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the growth of Norsat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training, pricing and positioning support to Hytera channel partners
  • Providing accurate short- and long-term forecasts
  • Meeting quarterly and yearly sales and profitability targets
  • Leading the sale of large channel opportunities
  • Motivating the channel to keep Norsat “top of mind” and to prioritize Norsat
  • Tracking all sales activities relating to customers, pipeline and prospects
  • Contributing to marketing efforts including: new product introduction, pricing, promotional activities, collateral development, and feature requests
  • Supporting pre-sales technical discussions to convert customers’ requirements into specifications
  • Working with marketing to execute lead generation campaigns
  • Monitoring competitor’s sales efforts and strategies
  • Visiting customers and attending tradeshows

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree, marketing, business, or technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of channel sales experience with a channel delivering > $5M USD
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience selling RF products
  • Knowledge of satellite or broadband/communications industry is highly desired
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects from conception to obsolescence

Summary:

Norsat is expanding its Engineering team!  Come join us during this exciting time!  As a RF Electrical Engineer within the versatile engineering team, you will act as a technical champion for our products.  You will play an integral role in designing new products/solutions and enhancing/maintaining our existing products, especially in the following areas:  RF circuits, synthesizer circuits, waveguide components and filters/RF component and system testing.  If you have extensive RF experience, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and manufacturing of BUCs (block upconverters) and SSPAs (solid state power amplifiers)
  • Customize and modify existing circuits
  • Participate in the design of RF power amplifiers, including layout and process/assembly techniques and issues
  • Convert requirements into conceptual designs and develop prototypes
  • Assist with product development
  • Provide guidance to manufacturers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Troubleshoot design issues
  • Work with Operations/Production to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Provide technical analysis for proposal writing activities
  • Provide technical analysis to show designs meet requirements

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in RF design
  • Rich experience designing RF components, especially power amplifiers, synthesizers and related circuitry
  • Good knowledge of EM theory
  • Design Experience for RF circuits for frequencies above 10GHz
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture & PCB layout
  • Hands-on experience building, integrating and troubleshooting circuits
  • Hands-on experience testing RF circuits and components
  • Experience designing waveguide components and analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience designing for manufacturability
  • Thorough understanding of RF assembly processes
  • Experience with the following software:  ADS, EMPro, HFSS, Altium, Waspnet
  • Familiarity with Agile and Solid Works considered an asset

Compensation:

  • $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience

Summary:

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is instrumental to the development and execution of corporate marketing plans and initiatives. This is a hands-on tactical role that will require the candidate to be flexible and draw upon a multitude of skills. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator must be dedicated to delivering high quality, brand appropriate, accurate and timely work while maintaining business goals. They will interface across several departments including sales, engineering, customer service and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Write communications plans to support product launches or other program launches
  • Author customer facing newsletter
  • Work on blog posts, and social media outlets
  • Produce marketing content including customer case studies, PowerPoint presentations, step-by-step guides and other documents
  • Work on Google Ads campaigns and other advertising programs
  • Design email campaigns, and landing pages
  • Work with the Graphic Designer in updating product literature including specification sheets, brochures, and other printed and electronic material
  • Work with Graphic Designer with copywriting, design, layout, and production of ads and/or promotional materials.
  • Update employee portal websites
  • Create pages on corporate website
  • Help with media relations, and corporate awards
  • Plan and coordinate trade shows including organization, show schedule, logistics, support material, promotional items
  • Plan and manage corporate/social events
  • Implement best practices across the marketing and sales teams

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience – preferably in a marketing or advertising environment
  • University degree
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Summary:

As a SATCOM Application Engineer in the Sales Enablement Group you will report to the Chief Scientist. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team and support the sales team to provide technical solutions for our customers.  The solutions will include satellite networks, SATCOM terminals and microwave assemblies. You will play an integral role in ensuring that the Norsat solution meets the customer performance requirements. You will work closely with engineering to ensure solutions are realizable.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sales team, marketing team and directly with the customer to determine the requirements and constraints
  • Work with the engineering team to design and engineer solutions for our customers
  • Provide support to proposal writing activities
  • Provide engineering analysis for customer solutions
  • Research existing and future technologies (including competitive solutions)
  • Provide technology and competitive analysis
  • Provide guidance to the engineering, sales and marketing teams on wireless technologies
  • Support pre-sales activities including traveling and performing demonstrations at customer sites
  • Support customer training
  • Support customer post sales technical support

 Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in satellite communications
  • Excellent spoken and written Mandarin required
  • Excellent spoken and written English required
  • Experience working with SATCOM terminals and satellite networks especially shared networks
  • Experience with IP networks including (routing, LAN, VOIP, video over IP)
  • Willingness and able to travel internationally

Department: Materials and Planning
Reports to: Department Manager
Position Type: 6 – 12 month contract with potential of becoming full time
Location: Aurora, ON

Summary:

You will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock to manufacturing teams as requested, inventory and other items using the corporate ERP system. Incoming product is to be properly identified and physically stored in proper locations. Manage the physical inventory while keeping the stockroom well organized and clean. Work together with the team and also be the backup during vacation times.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
  • Open bales, crates and other containers
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, locations or in bins according to organizational standards
  • Enter receiving and incoming goods into the company ERP system.
  • Follow Sinclair ISO procedures including FIFO stock rotation.
  • Labeling products and items to be received.
  • Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Perform assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written and spoken communication skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic numerical ability (counting, addition, multiplication).
  • Mechanically inclined: able to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
