Norsat is expanding its Engineering team!  Come join us during this exciting time!  As a RF Electrical Engineer within the versatile engineering team, you will act as a technical champion for our products.  You will play an integral role in designing new products/solutions and enhancing/maintaining our existing products, especially in the following areas:  RF circuits, synthesizer circuits, waveguide components and filters/RF component and system testing.  If you have extensive RF experience, we want to hear from you!


  • Participate in the design and manufacturing of BUCs (block upconverters) and SSPAs (solid state power amplifiers)
  • Customize and modify existing circuits
  • Participate in the design of RF power amplifiers, including layout and process/assembly techniques and issues
  • Convert requirements into conceptual designs and develop prototypes
  • Assist with product development
  • Provide guidance to manufacturers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Troubleshoot design issues
  • Work with Operations/Production to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Provide technical analysis for proposal writing activities
  • Provide technical analysis to show designs meet requirements


  • BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in RF design
  • Rich experience designing RF components, especially power amplifiers, synthesizers and related circuitry
  • Good knowledge of EM theory
  • Design Experience for RF circuits for frequencies above 10GHz
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture & PCB layout
  • Hands-on experience building, integrating and troubleshooting circuits
  • Hands-on experience testing RF circuits and components
  • Experience designing waveguide components and analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience designing for manufacturability
  • Thorough understanding of RF assembly processes
  • Experience with the following software:  ADS, EMPro, HFSS, Altium, Waspnet
  • Familiarity with Agile and Solid Works considered an asset

Department: Accounting
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Divisional Controller (“Controller”) will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations. The Controller will also be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the Sinclair Technologies Division’s accounting records through effective procedures, systems and controls. In addition, you will support the Divisional General Manager, Corporate CFO and senior management team on significant business development and other strategic initiatives.


  • Managing the Division’s daily accounting cycle;
  • Providing leadership, mentorship to the accounting team;
  • Preparing and reviewing month-end, quarter-end and year-end working papers, reconciliations, schedules and reports including budget to actual departmental reports and KPI’s, including related commentary;
  • Managing internal reporting to the parent company
  • Ensuring reporting is in accordance with IFRS;
  • Preparing technical accounting memos;
  • Overseeing the accounting of the Division’s subsidiaries;
  • Overseeing the Division’s payroll function;
  • Taking ownership and maintaining the ERP system;
  • Implementing and assessing the controls within the Division;
  • Communication with external auditors;
  • Applying and transferring pricing, preparing tax provisions and tax returns;
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly budget to actual departmental reports and KPI’s, including related commentary; and
  • Other duties as assigned


  • This position requires periodic national travel. 


  • CPA designation required
  • At least 5 years experience as a Controller or Divisional Controller in a manufacturing environment with proven abilities to ensure accurate and timely reporting;
  • Solid understanding of operations including and inventory and revenue recognition practices;
  • Experience within a public company reporting environment preferred;
  • Experience with large ERP systems (preferably NAV);
  • A proven leader with excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management;
  • Experience with Government funding programs such as SR&ED, SADI and DTAPP;
  • Can perform under pressure and handle multiple concurrent deadlines and tasks; and
  • Can function in an environment where priorities are subject to change based on various drivers.

As a member of the production team you will be responsible for the fabrication of parts for the manufacturing of antenna and filter products.  This position requires a large range of skills and is responsible for but not limited to the list below:


  • The primary responsibility is welding of aluminum parts
  • Weld and/or braze aluminum parts and other metals.
  • Fabricate parts for antenna and filter systems.
  • Operate machine tools in the fabrication shop such as lathe, milling machine, band saw, bending equipment, etc.
  • Read and interpret assembly and fabrication blue prints to manufacture antenna and filter parts.
  • Able to use shop equipment as required with minimum supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Completion of college level welding courses or equivalent experience, preferably with aluminum welding
  • Completion of welding apprentice program or equivalent an asset
  • Able to read and interpret assembly and fabrication blue prints
  • Must be able to operate fabrication shop machinery
