Summary:

Norsat is expanding its Engineering team!  Come join us during this exciting time!  As a RF Electrical Engineer within the versatile engineering team, you will act as a technical champion for our products.  You will play an integral role in designing new products/solutions and enhancing/maintaining our existing products, especially in the following areas:  RF circuits, synthesizer circuits, waveguide components and filters/RF component and system testing.  If you have extensive RF experience, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and manufacturing of BUCs (block upconverters) and SSPAs (solid state power amplifiers)
  • Customize and modify existing circuits
  • Participate in the design of RF power amplifiers, including layout and process/assembly techniques and issues
  • Convert requirements into conceptual designs and develop prototypes
  • Assist with product development
  • Provide guidance to manufacturers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Troubleshoot design issues
  • Work with Operations/Production to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Provide technical analysis for proposal writing activities
  • Provide technical analysis to show designs meet requirements

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in RF design
  • Rich experience designing RF components, especially power amplifiers, synthesizers and related circuitry
  • Good knowledge of EM theory
  • Design Experience for RF circuits for frequencies above 10GHz
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture & PCB layout
  • Hands-on experience building, integrating and troubleshooting circuits
  • Hands-on experience testing RF circuits and components
  • Experience designing waveguide components and analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience designing for manufacturability
  • Thorough understanding of RF assembly processes
  • Experience with the following software:  ADS, EMPro, HFSS, Altium, Waspnet
  • Familiarity with Agile and Solid Works considered an asset

Compensation:

  • $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience

Summary:

Our Software Engineer will play an integral role on our multidisciplinary Engineering Team focused on developing our line of portable satellite terminals (highly integrated with electrical/mechanical components) for broadcasters, disaster relief and government applications. Your primary objective will be creating control software with an innovative GUI that aims to improve automation and ease-of-use.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements and research to design, enhance and maintain:
    • LinkControl Software in Microsoft .Net Framework (C#)
    • Automated Testing Software (C/C++) for high power RF amplifiers (BUCs and SSPAs)
    • Microcontroller Firmware (C)
    • Other new software programs or components as needed
  • Work with Quality Assurance Team to:
    • Define and run test procedures
    • Track and repair defects
    • Ensure appropriate testing processes are followed
  • Create documentation and support of software systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Software / Computer / Communications Engineering or Computer Science
  • 1+ year(s) of progressively advanced programming experience with C and either C# or C++
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • operating systems and software engineering methodology
    • object-oriented design and multi-threaded programming
    • GUI design
  • Ability to test and debug software that interfaces with hardware
  • Experience with version control software and bug tracking software

Summary:

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, analytical and hands-on Director of Finance to direct our entire accounting function, including financial reporting, tax, and all financial transaction cycles, ensuring appropriate design and implementation of processes and controls.  As a key resource to the CFO, you will lead by example a team of professionals to ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance while seeking out opportunities to improve on current processes and procedures.

In addition, you will support the CFO and senior management team on significant business development and other strategic initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to build on a leadership function in finance and accounting and to support the future development of the business, enhancing the scope of your responsibilities as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
  • Monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Corporate tax, tax provisions, and transfer pricing
  • Cash flow and treasury management
  • Champion of the ERP
  • Establishing and monitoring internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Preparing financial modelling and analysis
  • Corporate insurance policies
  • Chair’s the company’s risk management committee

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation required
  • 5+ years of post-designation work experience with at least 3 years as either a Corporate Controller or Director of Finance in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing a team of ~9-10 professionals
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and strong public company reporting experience in an international, multi-currency environment
  • Proficiency in dealing with multiple-element revenue recognition issues
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, tax provisions, and transfer pricing
  • Hands on experience in NAV and Oracle Fusion is a definite advantage

Summary:

Sinclair Technologies is looking for a highly motivated and energetic Draftsperson to join our Drafting team.  You must have good communication skills, are a team player, are able to focus on details and have a natural drive to accuracy. The successful candidate must be proficient in SolidWorks, and experience with SolidWorks cable routing software and/or ePMD will be a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Make drawing changes, update file properties and release ECOs.
  • Convert manual parts drawings and mark-ups to computer models.
  • Follow engineering prototype to make 3D model, produce parts and assembly drawings.
  • Prepare engineering design release document package.
  • Data management and revision control.
  • Perform dimension and other basic calculations under supervision.
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specification and design data.
  • Check prepared contract and vendor documents.
  • Attend engineering meeting and provide weekly progress report.
  • Carry out other drafting projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, drawing dimensioning and tolerance labeling.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks with 1 year of industry experience is mandatory.
  • Experience with SolidWorks feature of Reference geometry, Hole wizard, Pattern, Multi-configuration and design table, Swept boss, Assembly mates, drawing views and BOM.
  • Preference will be given to candidate with the knowledge of SolidWorks ePDM software.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products, particularly in Excel.

Summary:

The Technical Sales Engineer will combine technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products. This position will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team, colleagues from a range of departments, and various customer staff.

The primary role of the Technical Sales Engineer includes: developing and providing product training and technical support to customers’ engineering staff, preparing system designs for customer applications, and developing strong relationships with customers’ technical design teams world-wide. In addition, the Technical Sales Engineer will provide input to the product engineering group for development of our product roadmap and technical support for market launches of new products, and conduct market research as part of discussions with customers’ technical staff. The Technical Sales Engineer will also prepare technical training materials and provide technical training for external and internal customers.

This position requires travel for approximately 40% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Sales team, identify product value proposition, develop promotional and training materials, and lead training sessions with customers.
  • Support pre-sales discussions to obtain sufficient information to convert customers’ requirements into detailed specifications for quotation and implementation.
  • Working with Engineering, prepare custom RF conditioning system designs for customers.
  • Assist Sales, Engineering and Quality departments with technical support for customers.
  • Maintain customer contact as well as oversee the resolution of customer complaints.
  • Support identifying market opportunities that can be advantageous for our company to seek new clients who might benefit from our products.
  • Attend various tradeshows and conferences as required to deliver solution presentations and provide technical pre-sales support.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) industry in a technical capacity is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with multiple active projects across multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize in a high expectation environment.
  • Adept at making presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Experience with new product introduction promotion through different distribution channels and industry verticals.
  • Technical undergraduate degree, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
